The Big Lie Of “Betrayal”: The Truth About Abba Kabir Yusuf And Jagora.

By Ishaq Abdul

History will not judge Abba Kabir
Yusuf not by party logos. He will be
judge by- Allah and by the people-
by what he did with power.

For forty solid years, Abba Kabir Yusuf served Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso with absolute loyalty, discipline, obedience. Not for one second did he betray him. He stood with him in hardship and in power, carrying out instructions without question. If loyalty were currency, Abba Kabir Yusuf paid in full— many times over.

Jagora was never short of loyal men. Dangwani, Aminu Dabo, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, and others also gave their years, their energy, and their political lives to the Kwankwasiya movement. Everyone knew it was their turn to be considered for Kano State governorship. But kwankwaso ignored them all.

Instead, he imposed Abba Kabir Yusuf

That single decision exposed the real nature of the game. Those men left— not because they were disloyal, but because they were denied justice. They were loyal servants not slaves.

The uncomfortable truth many refuse to say out loud is this; Abba Kabir Yusuf was chosen precisely because of his obedience. Jagora did not choose him for competence or independence, he chose him because he believed Abba would be easy to control. In the eyes of many critics, the plan was simple rule Kano from behind the curtain and allegedly use power and resources to serve personal interests.

Abba Kabir Yusuf understand something very seriously.

On the Day of Judgment Allah will not asks him about kwankwaso.
Allah will ask him about Kano.

At that point, obedience to a political leader and obedience to conscience could not longer coexist.

The Real Reason For The Fallout

– The conflict was not about betrayal.
– It was about refusal to be used.

Many believe kwankwaso expected continued influence over government decisions and resources. Abba however, chose to govern with the understanding that public funds are an Amana (trust) not political gift.

As Abba showed signs of independence the relationship collapsed.

And instead of admitting a power struggle, the story was simplified into one word: “BETRAYAL”

Why The APC Move Happened.
Abba move to the APC was not a celebration of defection— it was an escape from political suffocation.

The Final Truth

This is not a story of a disloyal man.
It’s a story of;
— a godfather who expected eternal control.
— a governor who chose responsibility over obedience.
— and political system labels independence as betrayal.

Allah Says In The Holy Quran;

“ And fulfill every commitment Indeed “ every commitment will be questioned “.
Quran- Sura Al- Isra 17:34.

“ No soul will bear the burden of another “
——- Quran Sura Al- An’am 6:164.
