Prof. Hafsat Ganduje Rolls Out Ambitious Support Scheme for Kano Entrepreneurs

KANO – Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, wife of the former National Chairman of the APC, on Saturday launched a massive support program aimed at over four thousand residents across the 44 local government areas of Kano State.
The program, facilitated by Minister Dr. Mariya Bunkure, provides tools and resources to empower citizens economically.
Speaking at the launch, Prof. Ganduje emphasized the importance of self-reliance for sustainable development. “This initiative is designed to give our people the tools they need to start and grow their own businesses,” she said.
“We are committed to empowering our communities so that every individual has the opportunity to achieve economic independence.”
Prof. Ganduje stressed that the program targets both urban and rural communities, ensuring that no local government area is left behind.
“By reaching all 44 local government areas, we aim to create a ripple effect of entrepreneurship that will benefit the entire state,” she explained.
In her speech, Dr. Mariya Bunkure, who personally oversaw the distribution of support items said “We are distributing vehicles, motorcycles, grinding machines, pasta-making equipment, modern fertilizers, and other essential supplies to help beneficiaries succeed in their chosen ventures”.
The launch event was attended by notable figures, including Engr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje FNSE, Chief Technical Director of the National Electric Power Authority, as well as members of the National and State Assemblies.
A local entrepreneur, Aisha Ibrahim, who received a grinding machine and motorcycle, said, “This support will allow me to expand my business and provide for my family. We are very thankful to Prof. Ganduje and Dr. Bunkure for thinking of us.”
