Millions Welcome Matawale in Gusau, Endorse Tinubu’s 2nd Term

By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul

KANO – Over two million Zamfara State citizens, devoid of political party affiliations, turned out to receive the visiting State Minister of Defense, Bello Matawale Maradun, while endorsing President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.

The Minister, who arrived in Gusau, the capital city of Zamfara State, on Wednesday, was surprised to see millions of people shouting the name of President Tinubu as the “Man of the moment”.

According to reports, the visit was part of the Minister’s thank-you visits to his people, aimed at showing appreciation for their support for the government of President Tinubu.

Bello Matawale Maradun’s visit also included a political program showcasing President Tinubu’s efforts in tackling insecurity, which has gradually returned to major towns and villages in the state.

Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, Director of Finance, Hadejia Jamaare River Basin, and a staunch supporter of the government, said: “Northern leaders and political office holders should emulate Bello Matawale Maradun’s political sagacity.”

He added, “Since his tenure as Governor and after leaving office, up to his appointment as Minister, Bello Matawale has never abandoned his people; he is always with them in times of pain and happiness.”

Kwankwaso further stated, “What Matawale is doing has endeared the people of Zamfara State to the government of President Tinubu, with the vast majority ready to re-elect him in 2027.”

He noted that over 3 million people turned out to welcome the Minister, without being invited, and called on other northern leaders to learn from this gesture.

He urged political appointees from the Northern region to embark on grassroots sensitization of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hopes Agenda, just like the Minister of Defense, Bello Matawale Maradun.

“We commend Bello Matawale for his sustainability programs, projecting the good works of the Tinubu government,” Kwankwaso said.

“By 2027, we, the Northerners, will re-elect President Tinubu en masse, and Zamfara will return to Bello Matawale Maradun under APC, as the PDP government has failed woefully.”
