KANO – Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano Municipal Local Government, has formally declared its full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday at the Sultanate Suite in Kano.
The meeting brought together reform-minded party stakeholders who expressed concern over the state of the APC in Kano Municipal and the need to reposition the party for future electoral success.
After extensive deliberations, the stakeholders unanimously resolved to align with the party’s national and state leadership in backing President Tinubu’s re-election.
A communiqué issued after the meeting, the stakeholders cited President Tinubu’s economic reforms and development-oriented policies as key reasons for their endorsement.
They said the ongoing reforms, though challenging, are necessary for long-term national stability and growth, and should be given time to yield positive results.
The stakeholders also reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC at all levels, stressing that unity and consistency in party positions are critical as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually begin.
They noted that Kano Municipal, as a strategic local government in the state, must play a leading role in mobilizing support for the party’s national agenda.
The meeting also discussed broader political developments in Kano State, as participants supported calls by APC leaders for cooperation with the Kano State Government, emphasizing that peace, stability, and development of the state should take precedence over partisan rivalry.
The stakeholders agreed that sustained political tension would only hinder progress in Kano State, and therefore urged party members to work constructively with the state government in the interest of the people.
Stakeholders stressed the need to carry all party members along, particularly across the 13 wards in the local government, in decision-making and party activities.
As part of efforts to implement the resolutions reached, the meeting approved a leadership structure to oversee the reform process and ensure effective coordination.
