KANO – Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, on Friday, celebrated his 65th birthday anniversary in his hometown, Gwarzo, with a series of community-focused activities emphasizing education, humanitarian service, and spiritual reflection.
As part of the celebration, the Deputy Governor distributed educational materials — including books, chalks, dusters, uniforms, and Islamic books — to students across various schools in the Gwarzo community. He encouraged them to remain dedicated to their studies and uphold moral discipline as future leaders of the state.
A special prayer session was held at the Gwarzo Central Mosque, where over 100 Islamic scholars (Ulamas) offered prayers for the Deputy Governor’s long life, good health, and continued success in serving Kano State.
The event was attended by prominent personalities, including the Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Hon. Hashimu Dungurawa; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Sunusi Surajo Kwankwaso; Chairmen of various local governments; and several top government officials and well-wishers, who joined in offering goodwill messages and prayers.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government, Dr. Mani Tsoho, who hosted the event, commended Comrade Gwarzo for his exemplary leadership, humility, and commitment to public service, praying for Allah’s continued blessings upon him.
As part of his itinerary, the Deputy Governor also visited his alma mater, Gwarzo Model Primary School, where he graduated 53 years ago. The nostalgic visit provided an opportunity to reunite with his classmates from the 1972 set.
He further extended support to widows and the less privileged, reaffirming his lifelong dedication to humanitarian causes and social empowerment.
In continuation of the activities, Comrade Gwarzo paid a courtesy visit to the District Head of Gwarzo Local Government, Alhaji Bello Abubakar, who offered prayers for his health and success while presenting developmental needs of the area. The Deputy Governor assured him of prompt attention and government intervention where necessary.
The celebration concluded with a feast organized by the Gwarzo Local Government Chairman at the council’s secretariat, attended by political associates, traditional leaders, and residents who expressed joy and admiration for the Deputy Governor’s enduring service to the people.
