Kano Dairy Market Records N200m Daily Sales

KANO( Kano, North West Nigeria) — Kano cow milk market has recorded a surge in daily earnings, hitting daily sales of N200 million.
The steps forward was sequel to a partnership between the state government and the Islamic Development Bank.
Muhammad Sani Alarama, the Chairman, Cow milk marketers association told Reporters in Kano that “the partnership has led to the provision of modern facilities, including over 100 generating sets and grinding machines, to local dairy marketers.”
Alarama said “This development has not only improved the quality of milk products but also enhanced the storage systems, reducing waste and increasing efficiency.”
Sani Alarama however appealed to the government, and the international Donor Agencies to activate the 40 Milk Collection Centers constructed across the state.
He stressed that “These centers, equipped with modern facilities, are expected to facilitate the exportation of milk products to international markets.”
Muhammad Ahmad Lawan Allarama, said the activation of the centers would be a game-changer for the industry.
“Once these centers are operational, we will be able to tap into the global dairy market, increasing our earnings and creating more jobs,” he said.
Alarama said “The association is also seeking complementary initiatives, including cooling trailers and solar-powered energy solutions, to improve the efficiency of milk transportation and storage.
He explained that the measures would further reduce waste and increase the shelf life of milk products.
