Ex-Ganduje Spokesman, Anwar Retracts Dollar Scandal Claims Against Ja’afar
By Newsroom
Kano; North West Nigeria  – In what appears like fresh troubles for the former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, it is alleged that, one of the witnesses who submitted statements as witnesses, to the Office of the Inspector General of Police, few years back, against the author and originator of alleged Ganduje Dollar scandal, withdrew his statement against Ja’afar, the publisher/ Editor -in-Chief of Daily Nigerian online newspaper.
Our findings alleged that, Ganduje’s former Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, has withdrawn his statement against Ja’afar. Anwar was Ganduje’s CPS, for a period of 6 years, 2018 to 2023. And one of the “closest” Aides of the former Governor.
What informed the decision of the Anwar’s action was still unknown up to the time of filing this report.
The statements were made in 2022 at the IGP office, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
With this new development, Ganduje’s Dollar video clip, could be fresh and more attractive in the judicial space.
During the hey days of the Dollar video clips, those witnesses were alleged to claim that Ja’afar’s actions were attempt to tarnish the reputation of the then governor, Ganduje, who they asserted had significantly transformed Kano into an emerging megacity.
They also believed, before now, that, Ja’afar was sponsored by the enemies of Kano who envy the good work of Ganduje as a governor, as he uplifted the standard of Kano to the highest level of an emerging mega city.
However, the recent withdrawal of this statement has sparked intense speculation and raised serious questions about the motives behind the retraction.
A source close to the matter, who requested anonymity, revealed that the decision to withdraw the statement is linked to the growing political tension gravitated around the inability of the former Governor to put All Progressives Congress (APC) as one indivisible party in Kano. Especially in relation to the life and survival of party.
The alleged retraction of the statement adds a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing political dynamics within Kano APC.
As Ganduje faces mounting criticism from former allies and within the party corners at the national level, it remains to be seen how this development will impact his standing within the party and his broader political career.
Whether Presidency or other APC big shots were aware about this new development, before now, is another dimension to the information of alleged withdrawal of the witnesses.
All efforts to contact the witness Malam Abba Anwar on his known GSM line wasn’t successful, neither did he respond to SMS.
