KANO — A participant at the Arewa Media Summit, Zainab Nasir Ahmad, has stirred reactions on social media after joking that her “key takeaway” from the event was “rice, chicken and Coke.”

Ahmad, a public figure, advocate and sociologist who served as a panelist at the summit, made the remark in a post on her verified Facebook page following the event.

She wrote: “I just saw someone ask, ‘What are the key takeaways from the Arewa Summit?’ As for me, my takeaway was rice, chicken and Coke. What about yours?”

Her comment came a day after she announced that she had participated in a panel discussion at the summit alongside Malam Nasir Babi, Yahaya Muhammad Usman, Kano State Attorney General Abdulkareem Maude, SAN, Fatima Zahra Umar, and Professor Sheriff Almuhajjir, Managing Director of Yobe Microfinance Bank.

Reflecting on the session, Ahmad had earlier stated that the panel “explored the vital role of social media in driving development.”

She wrote: “Yesterday, I participated in a panel discussion at the Arewa Media Summit… We explored the vital role of social media in driving development.”

While she did not elaborate on the intention behind her later post, the humorous remark quickly drew attention online, with many social media users interpreting it as a light-hearted quip about the summit’s “key takeaways.”
