APC Activates Unity Machinery in Kano Ahead of Elections

KANO —- The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday inaugurated an eight-member reconciliation committee ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The state APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa during the exercise at the party’s secretariat along Audu Bako Road in Kano, explained the desire to strengthen internal unity.

Speaking during the inauguration, Doguwa said the move was aimed at fostering peace, harmony and understanding among party members, aspirants and stakeholders across the state.

According to him, the party leadership considers unity as a major requirement for electoral success, stressing that the committee would help address misunderstandings and prevent internal divisions ahead of the elections.

“We are committed to ensuring that all stakeholders work together in the overall interest of the party. The reconciliation committee is expected to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding among members,” Doguwa said.

The committee is chaired by Hon. Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa, while Professor Nura Yaro Dawakin Tofa will serve as Secretary.

Party officials said the committee would engage aspirants, elders and other stakeholders with a view to consolidating unity and building consensus within the APC structure in Kano State
