After Tragic Loss, Kano Man Who Lost Wife, Six Children Prepares to Remarry

KANO — Mallam Salihu, a Kano man who suffered a devastating tragedy after losing his wife and six children in Chiranci community, is set to remarry in what many describe as a step toward rebuilding his life.

The development comes months after the tragic incident that wiped out his immediate family, leaving the community in shock and drawing widespread sympathy across Kano State and beyond.

Sources close to the family said Mallam Salihu recently returned from Saudi Arabia where he performed Umrah, a spiritual journey sponsored by the Kano State Government as part of efforts to support him through his grief.

Speaking on the development, the Kano State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Shehu Tijjani, confirmed that the bereaved father is making arrangements to take a new wife.

The Commissioner disclosed this when Mallam Salihu paid him a courtesy visit at his office, noting that the decision to remarry marks a significant step in his healing process after the painful loss.

Tijjani added that the state government is fully committed to supporting Mallam Salihu, not only spiritually but also socially, to ensure he regains stability and continues with life.

He further assured that the government would provide all necessary assistance to ensure that the forthcoming marriage is successfully conducted, reflecting its continued concern for the welfare of the victim.

Residents and well-wishers have continued to express support for Mallam Salihu, describing his decision as courageous and a symbol of hope, resilience, and the possibility of starting anew even after unimaginable tragedy.
