Faizu to Kwankwaso: Yusuf’s Destiny Differs from Yours That Runs on One Term
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO —– A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Faizu Alfindiki, on Wednesday took a swipe at former governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, asserting that the political trajectory of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is fundamentally different from that of the former governor.
Speaking on Wednesday in Kano, Alfindiki told reporters, “We know that one term runs in your blood, Kwankwaso. Between 1999 and 2002, you served just one term before the people of Kano voted you out.
Alfindiki asserted that Yusuf’s destiny is different; he is here to win big and lead beyond mere threats or opposition.”
The APC stalwart was responding to negative campaigns by Kwankwaso’s group against Governor Yusuf’s second-term ambition
anchored on “one term” strategy.
Alfindiki dismissed the threats as mere political posturing. “All these threats being made by Kwankwaso will not intimidate us,” he said.
He further predicted that Governor Yusuf would ultimately succeed in curbing the influence of Kwankwasiyya, the political movement closely associated with Kwankwaso in the 2027 electoral cycle.
“That same Abba whom he wants to see removed, by God’s will, is the one who will bring an end to the red cap in 2027,” Alfindiki added.
Alfindiki’s comments signal the intensification of the rivalry between APC supporters and Kwankwaso loyalists in Kano State ahead of the next general elections.
He urged party supporters to remain focused and resilient. “Our focus is on governance and sustaining the progress we have achieved. We will not be distracted by political theatrics”.
