Tinubu’s Road Projects Open Economic Corridors Across Northern Nigeria – Coordinator PEM
By Ahmad Tijjani Abdul
KANO –  Coordinator, Public Enlightenment Movement, Nuhu Abdullahi, on Saturday said road infrastructure projects being executed under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are opening up key economic corridors across Northern Nigeria.
Nuhu Abdullahi who spoke in Kano during a combined Phase 5 and Phase 6 briefing of the project, explained that the projects have improved mobility, boosting commerce and strengthening agricultural distribution.
The Coordinator revealed that the programme was designed to provide “factual updates on selected development efforts being implemented in the north under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the interest of public awareness and transparency.”
He listed major road works along the Babura–Katsina State and Dawanau–Kano State corridors, pointing out that the projects are already improving traffic flow and supporting commercial activities in strategic economic areas.
Abdullahi disclosed that further road interventions were outlined around Funtua in Katsina State, where upgrades are enhancing access for farming communities.
He stressed that these improvements are helping farmers move produce more efficiently while reducing the challenges associated with poor rural connectivity.
The Coordinator reported progress recorded on the Kano–Hadeja route,  adding that “better road conditions are reducing travel time and improving safety for commuters.”
Nuhu Abdullahi stated that beyond road infrastructure, the Tinubu administration’s intervene in the health sector particularly developments at the Misau Federal Medical Centre.
He further listed the conversion of the General Hospital, Misau, which he described as a move aimed at “strengthening access to quality healthcare services” and expanding tertiary healthcare delivery for surrounding communities.
The briefing also drew attention to strategic road works such along the Ajaokuta–Okene and Akwanga corridors, adding that these routes will continue to “strengthen interstate connectivity and support economic and social activities across regions.”
Nuhu Abdullahi maintains that the projects highlighted during the briefing represent only a fraction of ongoing federal interventions nationwide.
According to him, “This programme focuses on selected examples for public enlightenment,” they said, underscoring that similar projects are underway in other parts of the country.
He stressed that the combined phases reaffirm President Tinubu’s broader development agenda, which prioritises infrastructure as a catalyst for growth that provides essential tools for unlocking economic potential and fostering national integration.
