KANO   –  The Barau I. Jibrin Foundation (BIJF) over the weekend sets date for the disbursement of its 2026 Annual Scholarship Programme to 4,183 students of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, Kano, who are indigenes of Kano North Senatorial District.
The scholarship scheme is designed to provide financial support to students and ease the cost of education, particularly for those pursuing teaching and technical education in the state.
In a formal announcement by the Foundation, it said the exercise scheduled for Wednesday, reflects the foundation’s commitment to supporting education and human capital development in Kano North.
According to the foundation, all 4,183 beneficiaries were drawn from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, with both Degree and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) students included in the programme.
Under the 2026 scholarship package, students enrolled in Degree programmes are to receive ₦50,000 each, while their counterparts in the NCE programme will receive ₦20,000 each as financial assistance.
The foundation explained that the annual scholarship initiative targeted at reducing the financial burden on students,  encouraging academic focus and promoting access to higher education among youths from the senatorial district.
It added that the programme aligns with BIJF’s broader objective of investing in education as a key driver of sustainable development and social progress.
The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the scholarship scheme in subsequent years and called on beneficiaries to make effective use of the support to advance their academic pursuits.
